Shinmy's Mini Dungeon

Touhou Game Jam 15 entry.
Shinmyoumaru goes into a dungeon I guess. Can you collect all of the items?
Version 1.1 Updates:
Fixed first area music playing in one ear
Attack range increased
Tweaked movement to make it less slippery
Player can no longer move during screen transitions
Miracle Mallet will no longer activate twice
Added big sprites for some enemies and objects when scaled up
Removed drops from enemies out of reach
Screen size is kept when window is resized to disable sub-pixel movement
Controls:
Arrow Keys/WASD - Move
Z - Needle attack & Interact
X- Miracle Mallet
Esc - Pause
(Supports controllers too)

I can't figure out what the rings you collect are- a friend and I played this together and we called them donuts, but that's probably not it. Maybe it would have become clear if we'd gotten farther in, though.
